Why not use the Unreal Engine and the Sea of Thieves assets developed for it to create a story driven single player spin-off game?

  • The world that Sea of Thieves created is just stunning, the art style is beautiful and it feels to me like it could become a great franchise.

We already have this amazing multi player experience that's fun with friends and new faces alike but shouldn't Rare hire a second in-house development team that creates an independent single player game with a good and engaging story similar to the Uncharted or Zelda series?

The feedback to Sea of Thieves has shown that there is a huge interest in a single player pirate game set in the world of Sea of Thieves and not taking up on this opportunity seems like a waste to me.
And since all the art assets and models and stuff like that are already created the developers of this second game could really concentrate on the story similar to what Gearbox did with the Half-Life 1 expansions "Opposing Force" and "Blue Shift".

This could even benefit Sea of Thieves since some ideas from this new single player experience could find their way back into Sea of Thieves.

Do you think Rare should do this or do you think they should just solely concentrate on what we have now?

  • But then Microsoft couldn’t require you to be online in order to steal and sell your data.
