Unfinished Islands??? Never seen these before!

@kaiosuke they look so unfinished though, suprised they put them in the game

A Pioneer posting this thread makes it incredibly ironic...

@super-poopsy literally never seen them or completely been ignoring them as no quests take you there obviously. Thought they may have been added recently by mistake, thats why im posting to find out.

@Twelve-JS Nope, they've been there since the very first alphas and also very commonly discussed in the alpha forums. From you profile page i see that you haven't contributed much, which -again- makes it quite ironic and makes me wonder what was Rare's criteria in choosing Pioneers ;)

Please don't take it personally, you're not the first and probably not the last pioneer i've seen in this state.

@super-poopsy i got pioneer a week before release, and i played every alpha and beta test, but thats about it.

@Twelve-JS Maybe the process is randomized, thank you for explaining nevertheless.

On the topic of those mysterious islands, i tend to agree with the common theory that they're meant to be part of a future event, since -even if small- they all share a pretty vast underwater cave system, which includes old ruins, altars and so on and seem the perfect environment for the (currently missing) mermaid enemies AI.

Maybe something to introduce the Hungering Deep?

I had heard that these islands might have something to do with the kraken in the future updates. Possibly doing something at the altar or in the secret caves underneath the islands, maybe summons the kraken and you use it to take down an enemy ship or something. I guess we will find out in the future.

The new AI threat that is coming in May is speculated to be hostile mermaids. So maybe these mermaids will be roaming around the reefs by these islands.

Are you really a pioneer or did I have stroke this morning?

@urihamrayne This post made you question if you had a stroke because I’ve got pioneer status??? That alone I would recommend getting your brain tested.
