Nerf Sword

  • Once again, the stun is extremely unnecessary, so remove it. I can list more than enough reasons.

  • If you're close to being stunned, that's your fault.

    Just like it my fault for standing in the open, not moving, and being double-shot by a sniper and pistol combo and dying instantly.

    List is longer for why DG should be removed, but we can't talk about that without bringing the herd.

    As for counters for Sword, DG always wins among other long-distance weapons.

    Nerf made a sword once upon the 90's.

  • It's already nerfed. Closing the distance to get a sword hit when someone can blunder you off your ship is quite challenging. The blunderbuss is the lowest skilled weapon in the game and it creates an advantage against sword users especially when coupled with eye of reach. If your having trouble with sword users, use a sword too if you can't maintain distance using blunderbuss, then you can block and dodge.

    Cutlass is already a wet noodle as it is, in the gun-dominated meta that we have. If you allow an enemy to close the gap on you, that's your own problem.

    Double gunners already got their quick swap back, and now you clamor for sword nerfs. Nothing is ever enough.

    In nearly every scenario, a solid crew of double gun players who communicates well and defends against boarding attempts will win most skirmishes against cutlass users - experienced or not.

    Stop making excuses and begging for more changes for your benefit.

  • Sword has a place, it's great for fighting multiple people at the same time. It's also adds a little balance. Not everyone can hit every single shot all the time. A sword rebalance would be fine as part of a total rework of the combat system though. For example, find a place for the double barrel pistol so it is a viable choice. Maybe tweak the blowdarts a bit. Pistol/EoR has an insanely fast time to kill, that isn't always that fun. Blunder knock back on sloops is a little silly. A rebalance to make every weapon and combination of weapons viable would be nice. Though I have no idea what that would look like.

  • That's the only reason the sword is useable. We don't need to make x2 guns even better

  • @itz-majman If you give a double gunner their quick swap back, they'll ask for a glass of sword nerfs.

  • If you as a double gunner routinely lose to the sword, try to not be closer away than punch.

    You can shoot your gun twice faster than a sword can hit you 4 times. That's the balance. If you miss 2 shots at point blank range, that's part of the balance. You have to hit your shots in the same way a sword lord has to get close enough to you to hit.
