SOS rare needs help SOS... laughable imporium update

  • so your fix to have a gross UI for the cash shop is to put the items on a rotation and kinda create a sense of fomo around whats on offer? but you guys know your retention for newer players is about 3-6 months at best? so now you are going to be limiting your potential cash flow because you have a terrible UI designer by making most of what a new player might want not even be on offer? jesus..... you guys are just terrible at everything eh? cant manage gold, doubloons to the point you put a cap on a currency in a PIRATE GAME which is all about hoarding money and treasure? make that make sense. giving out free ancient coins so no one ever has to actually spend real money to actually help fund the continuation of this game. now cant manage a UI for a cash shop so were going to limit player purchasing power....

honestly after this fiasco i kinda hope microsoft just pulls the plug on the company as a whole. you guys need to stop making foolish on the fly decisions. actually sit down with someone who has some kinda of business and basic design sense and reflect on all your past mistakes because holy cow... i think SoT now officially the most missmanaged video game in all of gaming history, maybe theres an award? grats.

  • Go ask why Fortnite does it and how nobody complains.
    I’m curious

  • @roborob-r66y I agree that this current direction just sucks. FOMO events all around instead of actual pirate stories, adventures, and an all-around pirate feel. Season 19 isn't even a season it's an hourglass update with time-limited events sprinkled in and advertised as content.

  • @burnbacon Many players, including Partners like HitboTC, agree that SoT imitating Fortnite by having all these ludicrous skins and sets is a degrading the pirate world Rare originally built. People don't complain about Fortnite doing it because that's their entire gimmick they've made known and advertised whereas SoT was built and marketed around pirate stories with pirate aesthetics and pirate activities in a magical world. Two completely different games. CoD was doing the same thing and people got tired of it which is why BF6 had huge support especially after their marketing targeted celebrity skins and whatnot.

  • @antwonobi Yeah, it feels especially bad to see that Kraken set, and being reminded that we didn't get the long-awaited kraken update. We've asked for better outpost stock for ages, and we still only get some recolor stuff. Dark Adventure was one of the last major sets and that was a hot minute ago..

People don't complain as much about monetization when the GAME itself is GOOD.

Now ask yourself why you see all those complaints here, but not in Fortnite. Hmm...
