Skull of Siren Song voyage is really not doing well. What is supposed to be the most action filled voyage has become one of the most boring. Over 90% of the time, the voyage can be completed without any interaction with another crew. I encountered many players who only complete the voyage when it’s undisputed, and log off when there’s a rare occurrence of a rival crew participating in the voyage. This completely defeats the purpose of the quest.
I put a lot of thoughts in how to bring Skull of Siren Song Voyage back to life, and here’s the only solution I found:
The two parchments should only be visible to the players after at least 3 crews on the server have opted for the voyage. If not enough crews have opted for it, then we should be offered the option to dive to a server where other people have voted on the voyage.
With this, an update should be done on the related cosmetics. The skull of siren song shipset should inspire fear, but right now it doesn’t have much of a meaning, because it can be earned easily. If resetting Savior of Siren Song commendation (and locking the current shipset for all players) is not an option, then I’d strongly recommend creating a variation of the shipset. A variation that would only be unlocked by completing the voyage with the new method. I also thought of the possibility to have flags with different grades that indicate how many skull of siren songs the player has delivered. So players can show the muscles by raising on top of their masts the proof they turned in X amount of siren song skulls, while competing against at least 2 other crews.
I hope that just like me, you’d like to see this amazing voyage get resurrected.
