Just a few Ideas.

  • Please allow PC players to bind multiple actions to one key.

Please allow a way for PC players to make the wheel of the ship go perfectly in the middle without any offset by holding W.

Please change the way the mouse look feels on cannons, I don't want it to be unfair or fast, but fine tuning your shot is way too slow.

  • Adding to the wheel idea, I'd like to see a way to hold the wheel in place - or at least considerably slow the drift - during storms. Having to constantly mash A/D gets old quick, and having a Hold Button to keep the wheel in place still requires a player to be at the wheel. This way, the storm effects are still significant and impactful to crews.

  • @kowg4n Personally I don't have to mash A and D in storms, I just rotate it left and right using A and D and it keeps the ship on course, most of the time...

  • @kowg4n nah this would take away the challenge of sailing through a storm. It's annyoing the way it is but that's the point of the storm: It's a major inconvenience.

We are actually lucky the storm doesn't take down the masts (as it probably would on a real ship) or something, and oh boy do I hope the devs are not getting ideas from this.

You can make macro's with 3rd party software. Which is considered cheating.

Allowing to auto center the wheel makes the storm no challenge except for traveling through it. Storm = one player on the wheel constantly.

The maximum cannon rotating speed is fixed to a specific speed for everyone. You can only slow it down by moving the mouse slower. As on controller move the stick a little.

  • @thesuperchris why does only PC get the advantage of multiple keybinds???

why does PC only get the advantage of negating the storms affects?

  • @xassflamex I understand the fixed speed, but as I play on 400 dpi, it feels as if the cannon speed is determined by dpi rather than camera sens, if that makes sense.

  • @bummsfalleralel I think a "FINE TUNE" key could work though right? Like, you hold the button and it turns the wheel slower.

  • @rtl-saint ???

  • @rtl-saint Can you not rebind keys on console? That seems odd, I know some games offer you to bind whatever keys you want with a controller, but in this case, you'd be in the same ship as PC players, no pun intended...

For instance, I use "E" to interact, however, this unbinds the "right oar brake" key set to "E", but in other aspects, like changing binds for the radial menu, it works just fine, it's just odd that you can rebind keys to some actions but not others.

  • @thesuperchris oh boy you truley are special!
you said only pc should have the option to bind multiple things to one action. what about controller?

    use WASD then

  • @thesuperchris a fine tune key for slowly turning the wheel is a very good idea! As for cannons I would also suggest reloading the cannon with right mouse button.
I use E to interact as well. I have my oar brakes bind to the left and right mouse buttons. works pretty well!

  • @uzugijin I had no Idea you could rebind left and right mb! Thanks for the tip!

  • @rtl-saint lol, I do, that's not the point I'm trying to make, the point is the speed is matched to the DPI and not the mouse sens, it'd be like, having to use the D-pad instead of the thumbsticks to use the cannons.

    no. no it really isnt

  • The difficulty in using the ship's wheel and cannons on PC is intended, as it works as a pseudo-counterbalance to other platforms - PC has the advantage in personal combat, but console wins in the ship combat. In this way, they each have their own strengths and weaknesses.

  • @galactic-geek but the cannons are at a fixed speed, also, I don't think this is true, as, it's tied to the mouse dpi instead of mouse sens, so pc players who use higher dpi probably don't notice this at all...

  • @rtl-saint ah, thanks for setting me straight.

  • Based on your other post and this one, it just seems like your an extremely lazy PC player that doesnt want to do much at all when playing. unless your disabled, there isnt too much of a reason for you to want to put in as little effort as possible while sitting in a chair playing a game.
