What canon skin do you use?

  • Played with some guys the other day and they had up their own skins on their boat and I did not like the canon skin they used. I prefer the sailor, sea dog, or golden canon. Just for the fact you can see your target. Some of the skins they flair out at the tip and blocks the view of your target.
I made a comment that I don’t like the canon skin he had and his response was “it is just like any other.” Of course when I had to use it my 1st shot missed and I had to compensate for the swell in the muzzle and for me every shot missed is a lost opportunity especially your first one.

Is the canon skin more of a decoration for you even if it may reduce its accuracy and functionality of the canon?

  • I just use the default cannons, I especially don't like any of the new style of cannons with the flared ends.
I'd like to see a customisation option for all cannons where you can choose a flared or non-flared variant.

  • Some cannon skins are easier to "aim" than others (i.e. a better visibility). But this is pretty personal and also a matter of just getting used to a certain skin.

No skin in the game actually conveys any extra abilities. But certain skins do have some small advantages. Take the sails with holes in the them. There have been a few times where I spotted a rock or a "boarder" through one of those holes. It doesn't happen often. But "tattered" sails are better than regular sails. It's not a huge difference.... but it's there.

  • using the PL cannons for 500 skelly ship kills.
it kinda have a tip, so it can be used for aiming, but really dont care for the bonecrusher an other to visuel changing

  • Silver Blade cannons, Killer Instincts cannons, sometimes the Banjo cannons.

Usually depends on the hull I'm feeling and what would match

  • Magpie Wing and the Elemental Power cause the go with my aesthetic lol...

  • glorious sea dog. working on those 2k hits. Otherwise I use killer whale

  • It really just comes down to getting used to the different variants. Along with the flared out tips, some cannons are actually longer or shorter in length than others as well.

Adjusting to different cannon skins can throw you off, but after a few shots you should be able to easily adjust.

  • i also prefer the cannons that dont have the flared end. i either use the default or hunters call cannon skin.

  • @johnhp1 depends on what skin the whole ship has...
I don't care what form they have...first time I use them, I go all the way down, so I know how to aim...and I'm pretty good with the cannons btw

  • I use Bonecrusher cannons all the time now, ever since I unlocked them. Their aim is pretty solid, on top of their visual appeal. If I'm not using Bonecrusher I'm using Sea Dog.
