OP Lightning, Wrath of Zeus is upon us!

  • Lightning is too common. I die to lightning 5-10 times while completing a fort in the storm, or doing anything in the storm! I think it would be a great idea to increase lighting chance only in necessary areas. High up rocks, tip of the ship, crowsnest, all should have increased chances, especially while holding a sword. Please lower the chances though when I'm just "minding my own business". Kinda unrealistic too, lightening doesn't strike the same spot twice, only in the Sea of Thieves it will! :) Love this game though, just found out I've been on the seas for 300+days....That's insane! So much improvement since launch. Well done Rare, keep up the great work, excited for what's ahead!

  • I wish the storm would take pity on this poor fisherman and leave him be. Many a time I be struck down while reeling in a catch!

  • @shad0wxbunniez it ONLY hits you that often while you have the sword out...

I have no problem with fishing in the storm...I can fish at least 4 fish out, maybe 1 or 2 times the lighting got me...

  • @rowdy-reid oh my heart aches knowing your pain. I've lost trophy stormfish before due to lightning wipes tears

  • @schwammlgott I do notice that with having the sword out. Just thought it would be neat if they could tweak it a bit...the high rock idea would be cool though, climbing high with your trusty sword to get struck down by lightning for that beautiful bright white light. My point is, there should be more effort needed in "activating" the chances of getting struck, let me know what you think!

  • It is a lot better than it used to be! My only issue with the lightning now is that my crew likes to stand behind me with their sword drawn :D

I do agree that it should strike higher objects, but I am not sure of the exact physics involded. Lighting would typically strike where the path to the ground is shortest/quickest... A sword wielding pirate is much more conductive than a wooden mast even if it is taller, but which path is more optimal?

    Perhaps someone else may know?

I guess I'm just not Chad enough then... I'll try harder to not get hit by lightning?

Also try, by jumping into the water...lighting doesn't hit you there, or at least not so often...but watch out for the sharks

  • Just dont run around with your sword out and I think you'll be fine. Without a sword out you can run around and still get hit occasionally, but like at the least bit of chances it will rarely hit you, especially if you're moving constantly.

Don't know what to say about being on your ship tho...
