So whats the deal here? em i doing this wrong?

    i keep getting the (CinnamonBeard) error .. wait, wait before you start to flame me like crazy, i know that, that means this: We were unable to connect you to the game. Please do the following: Press the Guide Button on your controller, Highlight Sea of Thieves
    Press the Menu Button (to the right of the Guide Button on your controller),Highlight "Quit" and press A, Re-launch Sea of Thieves from your Pins, Recent or My Games & Apps areas of your console, Navigate the menu and join a game as usual.

    now call me crazy but as windows 10 (PC) user i don't have or find that guide button, i don't even have the option to select Quit in this game i need to ALT+F4 this game to get out of it? i'm so confused right now, you have no idea. what em i doing wrong, restarting the game does not work i keep getting the same error and again yes i do have internet connection, i'v tested the network option in xbox app on windows 10 that test came out all OK and working.
    is this game online or not, i hear some having fun playing... like i said confused and this is my first windows 10 game / xbox, did i buy the wrong version? i don't own an actual XBOX.... i do have xbox account witch i use to login in this game.

    Pff this is why i normally ONLY buy steam games so much better and with no f**z. :/

    5 scale test for unability to play at the relase date ? its kind of shame. all the time we get on beta for nothing ? its kind of annoying.
    and i keep getting this Ashbeard error that pop up somtimes and kill my night... sorry i love the game but its not professional

    I agree! I've had nothing but issues since release, in addition I still haven't gotten my black dog pack yet.. W*F?! Adding friends on PC is a pain in the butt (the nicer way of saying it) Having to jump through so many hoops just to play one game has REALLY put me off this game. Steam is the way to go hats off!

    Sall good, i played for several hours earlier today. Its just not a good imprerssion to game passers and such.

    All games have iffy releases but unfortunately i would have to call this a mini diaster. It'll be fixed,but it is a huge PVP shared game.

    I'm actually glad Valve wont be getting any money off this title. Its about time they had some competition and they are definitely not the saints gamers praise them as. I mean Microsoft is definitely worse but at least they publish some of there games to Steam. You're not going to find L4D or Portal on GOG or any other marketplace that Valve can't control.

    @noxsamus Do not stress if you bought the wrong version,

    i own a Xbox One and was playing the Alpha and Beta on xbox, but decided for release i will purchase it on PC as i have bought a new graphics card and SSD for this game.

    i preordered the game via my xbox and then logged into the same microsoft account on my PC and the game was already purchased in the store on PC. just had to download and install it.

    so as long as you use/have a microsoft account you can play on either PC ox Xbox which is a great way to do it .

    as for the quitting issue,
    when in the main menu i also do not see a way to quit it apart from ALT F4, but if you are in game you have the option to 'Exit to Desktop' or 'Exit to Menu'

    i had no issue downloading and installng the game. i am yet to experiance a drop out, and have only not been able to log in for a 10 minute period.
    So far so good for me.

    The Error msg you are getting is due to the servers being down for you location i think, give it time and they will come back online,

    hope once the server are up and running for you are able to play again

    @noxsamus Me too. I have been trying for almost 2 hours. I started off ornery when I found an old Microsoft gift card I never used, entered it and when I bought SoT, it didn't even take the credit. Arrrrgh (no pun well, yeah pun). I guess first day growing pains. Was hoping to play tonight since I'm off from work tomorrow.

    I made it in the game once, but sadly the friend I was in a crew with got the error, and I somehow landed on someone else's ship and he FREAKED OUT.

    Haven't been able to join since.

    @blessed-karma oh god, thanks for the info on "wrong version" ^^ it is my first xbox/win10 game and i thought i did it all wrong lol. yea the connection issue i kinda thought that was the case, not stressing over that at all, atleast now i know its just because of servers down and not because i have a wrong version :p "silly me". thanks.
