So i thought that after the alpha ended you guys would fix this issue since i had it at the end of the alpha and reported it! If i try to start the downloaded game the splashscreen appears and after that im immediately back to desktop without an error. :( I searched that error in the event log about "Cant start DCOM-Server" and found many people with these problems even in games like forza 7 etc. What is it and why do i have that error. After a reinstallation it works temporarely.
Still cant start the game! DCOM Server Issue still exists! :(
@deaglor I am quite sure the servers only open up tomorrow, but the download was available for today
I know the servers are still down, but even the normal start of the game doesnt work. And today it downloaded just another patch as big as the one yesterday 14GB. After it finished it said the game is broken and i have to reinstall which didnt work either. Now i uninstalled it completely and download it again. If it wont work i will try to update my card drivers etc.
@deaglor maybe even go as far as if u uninstall, find the save folders and game folders and delete them so it is a complete fresh install.
@deaglor I have the same issue. Reported it to SOT support near the end of last Tech Alpha, but no response.
Try logging into Windows using a Microsoft Account. Hit start, type "your account" and click the "Manage your account" option. On that dialog, you'll see something similar to "Log into windows with a Microsoft Account instead". Sign into that with the same account you use for Sea of Thieves.
No idea why they have not located the source or fixed this issue yet, especially as they release to more and more people with every public test.
@d3adst1ck
I am receiving the message, "To early" .. don't be so impatient,,, blahblah argg I can see I am not the only one and they are working on the issue/nuisance/ as we are in our parlay. I certainly hope they remove the barnacles soon as our beta vessel is dragging in the sea.For me it is far worse than being the first buccaneer to visit a wee island paradise where there naught but cannibals without supper. For you see I have nay been able to log in any alpha ways yet and the beta maybe a speak on the waning horizon as well. I will hold me tongue, (for fear o'loosing it by the Capn's hand), and sit hear in the crows nest awaiting to see how long before we again have fair sail. (can read, am not a fan of this mixed platform melee, PC or Console... none the twain should meet!)
Yes, I did ramble, but comments were requested.
@rickityolecaj The "too early" issue is a separate problem, and likely requires them to flag your account as having access.
@d3adst1ck
I see .. well the alphas are a ship gone by, and that is the way alphas can be. No blame no fowl there really. (not my maiden voyage).I will definitely reach out to those supporting the adventures and see if ther'll flag me. Owe you an ale in next port, mate.
FYI"
iwent to oget support and the following was posted on the pole ...
Closed Beta: We are rolling out a fix for players currently experiencing the 'Too Early' bug in the next few hours.@radula76 said in Still cant start the game! DCOM Server Issue still exists! :(:
I had this DCOM error in windows logs, I downloaded some free app from the store and logged into windows store, xbox app and insider app. game loads now.
I can confirm, DCOM event id 10001 that happens when the game fails to load can be bypassed by going to the store and installing any other app. SoT was exiting after 5-10 sec and leaving behind this event id and i installed the first free app I saw in the store (Spotify) and then Sot loads properly.
for reference, I do not login my windows 10 with a MS account.
I also get this error in windows logs and cannot start the game. Local account and downloading a free app does nothing for me. This started after march 30th.
@deaglor If you're still having problems installing/playing sea of thieves, It may be an issue with the windows store on you're pc.
