Sorry to see that you got dog-piled here.. Personally, I thought this was a good idea and was surprised how so many people (including the admin of all people), completely neglected to read the second half of your post. Also, really disappointed to see just how mocking everyone was too (again, including the admin.. Kinda awful behavior from someone who's supposed to be in charge imo). But I guess welcome to the sea of thieves forums, where anything that deviates from what's existed for the last 10 years gets shot down as "not traditional enough". X(@silverwing-525 thanks, and don’t worry I have been on this forum long enough to understand how some veterans work here. I’m an engineer by trade, so it’s just in my nature to try and find solutions for a problem so they end up working. I just wish more people can see past their opinions and try and give better feedback to the problems when it comes to any forum post, understand that people responding with solutions isn’t them “fighting for it” it’s be trying to get everyone to see how it can work potentially.

But you aren't finding a solution to a problem. You are creating a solution for a non-problemm. Pets are a cosmetic. They are meant to be a fun thing for tour pirate. If you make them useful, you make them mandatory. This is bad because many of us despise pets. They have many drawbacks.
They add movement to your deck. They can eat food if you try to hand it to a team mate.
They create additional lag because we'll everything adds to that pool.
They are expensive.Creating a "solution" for no reason isn't helpful.

I don't use pets. That said this would not bother me either way. so much negativity from people.... luckly ultimately its not up to the handful of debbie downers on the forums. (oh and saying rare said they would never add a P2W item is a useless arguement since all it would take is a change in leadership and new head being greedy. not saying i want this but I am not oblivious to reality like some people here are)
@captain-coel well idk about mandatory a lot of things could be considered mandatory but are there for convenience like captained ships or resources and to even some extant the skull of destiny you don’t need it to get the skull but it’s a lot better than doing it the long way and spending like an hour getting the flames the other way, it’s just to give them a purpose so why don’t we try to work shop it to make them useful and less annoying cuz I think we can agree that if they where less in the way we would probably have a better time with them and if they added an element of usefulness it would be even better

You are trying to find a solution to something that isn't a problem. Making pets useful is a terrible idea. Why workshop a terrible idea?

I have wanted pet functionality for years. I don’t care about the pay to win argument whatsoever because there are ways to mitigate that either by offering all players one free basic looking pet or by making some of the pet functions positive and some negative so there is a trade off.
@captain-coel cuz why not it’s always fun to talk about what could be it’s all about the imagination and fun of theory crafting that’s why ideas exist whether good or bad it’s interesting to take something that already is and possibly improve upon it

@look-behind-you I just would like to make it clear that he/she is not me. Not sure if you’d believe me, but just have to put it out there, because it seems that’s the implication is that it’s me.
May I suggest to you not to accuse people who are passionate about the game who take the time to create a new topic that they believe would add value to the game as making a troll post.
It’s rude. Edit your own post to be more in accordance with how an official moderator should act when engaging with users of the forum.
@gunshyten255133 this point I do agree with, I do feel very looked down upon and I genuinely liked my idea, hence the very long explanation of it.
You’re not even close to the first person who has created a topic on the forum about adding some functionality to pets. It’s a cool idea.
This is what happens to people who propose ideas like an ice region. They get ganged up on and belittled. It’s sad. But it happens a lot.
@gunshyten255133 yeah I have seen the ice idea, I like it too because all though we are in a tropical area, they can make a story where another villain placed a curse on the lands, making it a tundra
@gunshyten255133 although that is true we mustn’t let this diminish our passionate flame for something we like or even love be squandered just keep coming up with ideas who knows it might just be incredibly genius but we don’t know until we get it out there and share after all that’s what community’s are for

It is my opinion. But its also the viewpoint of Rare that pets are meant to be cosmetic and not useful. The OP had a bad idea. He has a small group upvoting an otherwise terrible idea because they are clearly drinking the same kool-aid.

@whalelordgames The feedback forum is to post your wildest dreams for the game. people can disagree but they forget there is a person on the other end of the conversation and have no consideration of their feelings. we need more creative people and less of the debbie downers just dismissing every idea that does not fit into their cookie cutter vision of what the game should be. there is ways to make alot of things work.
@whalelordgames sadly Rare has already said they will never add payed power adding functionality to pets would count which means out side pets following players that's all we'll see from them

Of course you can have ideas, but in cases like this one you can also use the search feature and find the same thread from the last time.

@otherfanboy very true but what’s exiting is mainly the thought of it even tho it might not come it’s a reasonable idea but sadly it will only see the light of day in our thoughts and not in game
