During the reveal trailer for A Pirate's Life, ocean crawlers could be seen leaping from the water onto the deck of a galleon. When my friends and I saw this, our minds went wild with excitement over the implication. It does happen a couple of times during the tale tales and that is fine. I wished PvE Boarders was a more normal occurrence outside of the tall tales. It could be an encounter as frequent as the megalodons or an addition to the kraken. Or the idea can be made into a cursed cannonball that, when fired at a player ship, lures a few ocean crawlers onto the targeted ship. Of course this could be changed to be skeletons instead, the main idea is PvE boarders.
PvE Boarder Encounters
You'd probably like my suggestion to incorporate this behavior into a new PVE ship encounter.
I suspect that Rare will add the capability to have mobs board your ship at some point in the future- after all, they've already invested the time and effort to code this behavior into the game!
Idea.
Update shipwrecks. Make them two kinds, the old and newer.New shipwrecks will appear above/below water with coral floating in the water with a ring size foam. Once you cross into it your ship is slow or stuck.
You have to fend off a wave of crawlers before the foam disappears and the wreck is revealed. (Dive into the water and you can see anything)Crawlers jump onto your ship.
If you are able to move your ship out of the foam, any crawlers will leave your ship. Your ship will also take minor damage from them. Very minor but possible sink if your not careful.
