The Fort of the Damned's Curse for the unworthy.

The Fort of the Damned is a very high risk, high rewarding experience for shrewd pirates but its excuricatingly hard to pull off without drawing attention. Whenever you're five minutes in or have just slain the boss, a not-so-friendly crew turns up to snatch your hard earned spoils.

Normally this is fair for a piracy game but it feels one-sided for the ones who went through the struggles of obtaining the Flames of Fate to go to waste by some pot-eyed foes.

A good idea would be to impose some wicked aura around the fort, as a consequence for those willing to hijack your efforts.

    • An unwelcoming aura: The misty fog, that envelops the fortress, turns hostile once the ritual skull is placed. Any ship that dares venture too close will start suffering from hull damage. Much like the Devil's shroud but (caused by Greymarrow's weaker magic) is significantly weaker and can be manageable.
    • The fog adds pressure and forces attacking players to occasionally repair their ship, as long as planks last. The crew, whom have activated the fort, would be immune or may suffer the same fate.
    • Rowing boats is probably the safest option through this fog but losing the boat, from a failed attempt would be enough due to their value as an asset. Swimming would naturally have the dangers of sharks.

I hope this suggestion is good enough because it could help give the ones who activated the fort a chance at completing the event, even when faced with opposition.

  • Most people bring rowboats and tuck anyway. Interesting ideas, but it wouldn't change how most people steal this loot.

Sorry but no. It’s the pvp interaction part in adventure and now u want to make it so u get some advantage. The lights are no way near hard to get compared to how it was.

Tucker’s and enemies will always be part of the game. Adjust your strategy accordingly.

We start the fort almost every play session because we like the fight.

And one more question about the one starting is the one in advantage of not taking damage. How about alliances? 2 or 3 ships there. Will they get damage because u started it?

This is a no for me. No advantage because u started it. That’s not how this game is set up. No one ever gets an advantage. The only advantage u get in this game is your tactic strategic and skill

  • if you get attacked just grab one of the gunpowder kegs and you can figure out the rest.

I think you misunderstand where the risk originates from. The drawing of attention is exactly that, the risk. This whole fort is designed in a manner to beacon the entire server letting them know what exactly is going down.

Had there been no beacon, their would be no risk. Like any voyage, their is no timer nor risk to the boat. You can essentially throw bodies at the problem dying repeatidly and still not lose anything. This is where other players come in. They are the risk to justify your reward on this fort.

I can see it in your language, you seem to think that this fort belongs to you. Unfortunately that isn't the case. You want safeguards to secure what isn't yours and that goes against the nature of this PvP hot spot.

  • @nabberwar

To add to this. As i said we start the fort almost every play session. And i do think it belongs to me. Thats why we fight for it! Its mine ;)

  • I enjoy putting out the lights at the fort of the damn. Sail up and see that some have been lit already and I get to snuff them out is pretty funny.

  • way i see it you think to seem the loot in the fort belongs to you it does not belong to you until you've completed the fort and turned the loot into coin before that its everyone's loot the forts and all other events are suppose to bring players to it its what it was made for thats why you can see it in the sky if you are afraid of wasting time by losing loot from a fort dont do them until you've gotten decent at pvp

  • pirate game.

  • @robi-tribal

It is a world wide cloud event, the whole point of the encounter is to be contested by other crews. Why else would they place a big burning skull cloud above your head?

I don't get why the island should protect the ones that are summoning the ruler to kill them and steal their loot?

I always think to do the opposite - I light them as I pass by to help others. Never thought anybody would be so cruel as to snuff them out. 🤨

  • @galactic-geek I didn't know you could snuff them out!

  • @galactic-geek I sail for my crew and not others on the seas and you know this. Sorry. We even sink our storage crates when we are cashing in for the night.

Yep! Been doing it since the fort came into play. If we wanted to do the fort we would take the flames and snuff the others out till we were ready to do the fort

  • @inboundbomb nice

    @inboundbomb nice

Remember this doesn't work while the fort is active.
