Side note: People will always be upset and frustated when they loss loot. I mean the endless threads from PvE players complaining about the volcanoes in DR, or the ammount of Krakens and Megs. Why does lossing to someone else cause such vitriol.
Not justifying it at all, but the few times I lost my ship and loot (and honestly it was only a few times I actually got upset, most of the time I just go with the flow as I don't need the loot) and actually got upset about it was more about the time spent busting my back side to get that loot. I actually don't care about the gold or rep, just the satisfaction of turning in something that was particularly difficult to obtain. Then to have someone come along with equal or better skill on the PvP side, usually in greater numbers than I have on my crew as I sail solo or with one other person the vast majority of the time, and lose it, can be frustrating.
Admittedly, some people get frustrated and upset for everything they lose. Me, it is only on rare occasions. But I can see why some get upset about it.
For my side note, I get frustrated more with the fact that you die so quickly here there is little to no chance to learn how to get better. Usually when I lose it is to some one that seems to be able to move in ways that don't seem like they should be possible. I am not crying about it, I am simply saying for me, the visual effects, when in PvP, are so fast that I am not able to pick up on what they are doing against me so I know how to properly counter it. I think that is a very big let down in this game. Not having the ability to practice with others in your own crew, or even some sort of training area or server. If I encounter PvP, I actually don't defend at all most of the time, because it just feels futile.
