Cargo Run need a better Payout

  • Cargo Runs need tiers and better pay. 350 for normal and 700 for devils roar isn’t enough incentive. It takes less time to get an ashen villainous skull for 4x the price.

Either increase the coin per cargo or take into consideration distance. We had a cargo run we obtained from Golden Sands to go to Fletchers Rest to get the cargo (against the sod obviously). We got the loot after a long sail, then we found out that we needed to take the cargo to Mermaids Hideaway (again other side of the world and against the wind) for a measly 700 coin...

Coin should reflect the work, risk, and time taken.

  • dosent tried out but a tactic could be just take crates for spots in the devils roar n close to the devils roar .

  • @kame-tatsujin You only got one crate of cargo for transport?

  • I watched a video of people doing cargo runs yesterday and the value of the items after they cashed them in, and instantly kneeled down on my door mat and praised be that i'm level 50 merchant and won't need 't be doing any of that!

  • @kame-tatsujin True Statement. Higher tier goods should definitely be in here. Maybe make the runs farther, or the goods more delicate. But there should be a way to get more out of it.

  • @kame-tatsujin but we can do several cargo runs at the same time... And the number of boxes and requests raise with the level.

I'm 50 and having 700x8 with a simple delivery quest (or multiple) seems quite fair.

  • The payout for a regular merchant mission with a few gold chickens can easily reach 4k. They are a pain so merchant was always a higher payout. Having degrading merchandise seems like the value would have been way higher especially in the devil's roar. And I wouldn't even mind the gold reward as it is if the Rep wasn't horrid. I thought these would be more of a draw than regular merchant quests. While they are a good idea, the rewards aren't enough to make me choose this new content over the old grind.

  • @kame-tatsujin I think they give less gold because you can do a cargo run voyage at the same time as a gold horder or souls voyage

  • @nunoazuldimeter Agreed. My crew has been throwing down a quest for cargo runs, picking them up, then immediately throw down another one. Based on it's location we either pick those up or turn in. Rinse, wash, repeat. It can be very profitable if you plan out your voyage well. Also be sure to take time to talk to the NPCs. The conversations can be pretty entertaining.

Also agree. Going solo I was able to turn in 32 of these pretty quickly as they stack easily.

    1. Ancient Spire to Shipwreck Bay
    2. Devils Ridge to Plunder Outpost
    3. Plunder Outpost to one of the Ancient Isles Seaposts, don't recall the name.
    4. Crooks Hollow to Daggertooth Outpost.

I dropped the voyage which gave me [Ancient Spire, Shipwreck Bay]. Grab those crates and dropped a second one which gave me [Devils Ridge, Plunder Outpost]. I bought more voyages before going to Devils Ridge. Got my crates for [Devils Ridge, Plunder Outpost] and dropped the voyage for [Plunder Outpost, Ancient Isle Seapost], awesome! I drop my crates off for [Devils Ridge, Plunder Outpost] and grab my crates to drop at the Seapost. Drop of voyage for [Crooks Hollow, Daggertooth Outpost]. I picked up the crates at Crroks Hollow before dropping off my first set of crates at Shipwreck Bay and finish off as Daggertooth Outpost.

I can't recall which Seapost I dropped off at, but it was dropped off somewhere along the way.

  • What I think is that people who are complaining do not understand the mechanics of this. And are looking at this the same way as the other merchant alliance quest...

    That's wrong.
This is a complementary quest, to multitask.
We can do several at the same time, or other faction's quests.
If we manage to plan things well it can be really good.

The only thing I'm against about this quests is the fact it doesn't count to merchant commendations... I'd be able to do a lot of miles with this thing!!!
