I understand that the IPG is designed to make sure every pirate on the Sea of Thieves is unique in some way but could we please have some kind of filters for it? So we still have to re-roll through randomly generated pirates but we are able to add some filters to make only femme pirates generate for example.
The IPG is all well and good except I will litterally never play as a masc pirate due to personal preferance so it would be nice to get more streamlined generations!
@ll-predator-il I feel like there are people with the mentality of “I only spend 10 minutes tops” who will probably disagree with you. But then there’s people with 300+ days that have told me about spending 9 hours re-rolling just to find their perfect pirate. Personally the most amount of time I’ve spent is 6 hours. I spent 4 hours looking for my wife’s pirate alone. I’m not allowed to re-roll anymore after my wife heard me tell the crew of 300+ days players that spend 9 hours searching, that I personally am on my 67th pirate now. But 80% of those pirates were something that ended up looking way different with my cosmetics on.
Imo there are a bunch of long time suggestions that some will push against no matter how the environment changes and if they ever get implemented they will largely be received in a positive way.
This is one of them. As soon as Captaincy was added this sort of thing became far more relevant. Once moving on from random to individuality became a direction change it makes sense to use more resources for supporting that pursuit and opportunity.
Random is fine for a design and system but we no longer truly play in that environment. It's far more personal in gameplay and immersion now.
I have created quite a few pirates over the years, and always spend a ton of time. I do wish the favorite would act as a kind of filter - or at least make the favorite filter an option. If I favorite an older, skinny guy, show me more older, skinny guys.
I did have an interesting time creating a younger version of one of my pirates. After hours, I got a younger one with the same eyes, nose, hair and scars. It just looks like he was more buff as a younger guy. That was cool, but it took so long!
