Turn off cross platform option !!

    Tldr version, i play on xbox(the one x to be specific).
    Simply put tonight i played for 9 hours and didnt get to hand in any loot because of PC cheats and lag, we NEED the option to turn off cross platform, gears of war has this so why doesnt thia game?
    This game will die fast of that doesnt get sortes i already have half the friends list not playing anymore as it is.

    Now for those of you that want more detailed context as to why i feel this way, i played for 9 hours tonight and did not hand in a single chest. Not one.
    I am level 40-38-37 so before anyone tells me to 'git good or get a better crew' thats where i am at.
    Ee sank one sloop 8 times in a row because hr knew where exactly we would be at all times, even laser focused straight to us through a storm and all they wanted to do was grief us and obviously had a map hack because no one can hunt you like the terminator 8 times.
    Then we had the awful awfullll lag against a pc crowd with a skull fort up just to sink after we load the ship because one guy was rubber banding all over the place and one shotting people while teleporting.
    Then on top of that they are able to type in chat which we cannot which is just annoying but not really game breaking.
    But the cheaters and lag is absolutely awful and its honestly shocking we are forced to game with these people.

    Sort it out.

    All problems can be fixed without removing crossplay:

    • Lag has nothing to do with playing on PC.
    • Cheats are an issue but that can be resolved without removing crossplay by adding an anti cheat system.
    • Support for the Xbox Chat Pad can be added.
    • Support for using a mouse can be added to Xbox.

    In conclusion it is entirely possible to make the PC and Xbox work equally good.

    @sanni we are not asking to completely remove crossplatforming just an option to play or not play with pc players. Pc vs console is stupid sot is easyer to play on pc

    Literally every single person I have met in this game is on Xbox.

    If cross-play is even made optional, let alone removed, I will be left with a single player game.
    The PC playerbase is dead, we need cross-play to have multiplayer at all.
    If people start disabling cross-play, the PC players will leave (we didn't buy a multi-player game to be stuck alone on the server) and the game will die.

    only people this will upset is the pc players as they will have to face other pc players and they will lose there advantages vs console players

    @colin-niven-08 no it should always be optional. I've come across quite a few PC crews and their ability to dodge is uncanny.

    While I feel for the shrinking PC community, they're not our problem. They have tons of pirate games to choose from. We have this and assassins creed.

    As a Xbox and PC player, I know for a fact anti cheat software never does a thing.

    We deserve the option. This is an Xbox game, first and foremost.

    This is such a big issue for me as well. The ability of a pc players mouse over a Xbox controller is extremely unfair. A “simple” change like the option to only be paired with console players will not only show the developers but the community that pc gamers have a huge advantage over console player wether the want to believe it or not. Let the people decide.

    @the-song42 lol xbox players alone currently active in game are in the millions xbox game pass alone has seen a 500% increase in game pass subscribers since sot release there are alot of pc players too but we are fed up of having to shoot pc players 3 times point blank to kill them when they can hit console players once. And not to mention the pc hackers,mods and cheats where they can teliport through your hull and ship decks have unsinkable ship's and unlimited supplies

In fact many PC players play with a console command. Lag has nothing to do with PC players. A poor loot is a server problem. that's all. I think the interesting thing in this game is that players of all types of platforms can be together. The idea and philosophy of this game is innovative. Big Up!

    I'm a huge fan of crossplatform play. I play on both PC and Xbox and I do play with people from both platforms. The only reason I would even want an option to make crossplatform optional is to get rid of entitled Xbox children that think that losing to someone can only be because they're on PC and because they're cheating. It's reminds me of the Call of Duty / Battlefield crowd where everyone you kill is a noob and everyone that kills you must be a cheater.

    Most of the problems described by the OP aren't even related to crossplatform as @sanni already mentioned. What I do agree on is that the typing is annoying, not because I dislike it but because I'd rather have everyone talking. Luckily everyone has the ability to talk through a mic. So instead of disabling crossplay play I would rather have an option to disable joining mic-less crews.

    @saracens-lament Have you ever played a real shooter in Pc ?,. Believe me, if this game was classified by a shooter, it would not have sold a single copy ...The melee is much more interesting and developed, for mouse or pad. And yes, many pc players play with pad..

    @fishst1ck I'm sorry to say but if you have to log into Xbox chat and have friends and use our fourm on box then your on Xbox. Think what you will but,it's fact. An I do like the option off from PC players. Iseen cheats as well in game.

    They are already sending out how they are going to come down H*****n the cheating, villainous s******s. With as much as a full ban!
    Now I've been playin' since the Original Xbox days and would never risk my rep/gamer tag for a c****y cheat. I must say there is only so many times one can create/loose an account to grief with cheats before it gets boring. Stay the coarse, and sail on. They will be gone in short order!

    The cheaters are a real problem, I'm aware of it, even if I'm lvl 31-27-28 and I have not crossed one yet..., welll...I guess I've been lucky ... in other PC games you cross them from the first day!!, im thinking about alls those battlesfront and CoD. But you can not generalize, and think that all Pc players are cheaters ... cheats is a Pc probleme, not a Pc gamer probleme... I hope the developers put in place an effective system against these people, which I repeat, is not the majority.

    You also log into Xbox Live for multiplayer on Minecraft on the Switch, so Switch players are on Xbox too? The Xbox name has been used by Microsoft as a name for their gaming platform, Xbox Live has always been there for both PC and Xbox consoles. It's a Rare / Microsoft game that's for Windows 10/Xbox One, don't be greedy saying it's a Xbox console game first.

    I trust in Rare / Microsoft being able to handle cheating and lag issues just like any other gamedev / publisher. While I'm not saying there isn't any cheating, I just think that a lot of people claiming to see cheating, tend to throw that term around so they can cope with their ingame death easier.

    Removing crossplatform won't stop people from complaining, it'll just change the topics to balance blunderbuss, remove gunpowder barrel or I quit this game because reason X is unfair.

    Who cares if you personally like cross play? All you people are missing the point. I am NOT saying get rid of it.
    I want the option not to play at a dissadvantage, it doesnt matter anyway this game is a skeleton(pun intended) and without content and eliteist PC snobs it will end up catering to a very small s**t bag audience which i will be no part of.
    Also cross platform is OPTIONAL on every other game that offers it to my knowledge.
    PC gaming should be kept betwren PC players seeing as most of that crowd have inferiority complexes so cheating on a game feels great.

    And how much do you pay for your Live subscription for PC? Don't call Xbox players entitled like it's some kind of insult(against the pirate code btw). Paying a subscription fee absolutely entitles them to at least the choice in crossplay. Xbox players pay for a service that is a level playing field (machine & control wise).

    The game can keep the crossplatform feature, we just need an option to turn it off individually. I don't wanna play with PC losers/cheaters. If you wanna play with them, okay, turn it on. Simply as that.

    Don't twist my words please, I didn't call Xbox players entitled. I said saying you deserve something because you claim it's a Xbox game first is acting entitled. I pay exactly the same for my Xbox Live subscription as any other Xbox player because as I stated, I play on both Xbox and PC and do crossplay with my girlfriend on that same PC and Xbox.

    The only things the Xbox Live subscription entitles you to is being able to play online on your xbox and receiving games monthly. It doesn't give you other benefits than that. I don't agree with having to pay for something that others don't have to, but don't lay claim to things that aren't part of the service your paying for since everyone is paying for the same game.

    @colin-niven-08 ok I disagree with your experience that has driven your conclusion but we definitely need optional cross play.

    Forcing cross play only increases 1 sides experience and its the minority that enjoy their pc advantage (in nearly every aspect of the game from aiming to draw distance) ....time to go.

    @fishst1ck Don't want to argue with you, man. I've been there since day one. I was an Xbox Live beta tester. Up until recently, you could only access Xbox Live from an Xbox console. Same machine running same software using same control mechanics. Whether you think the advantage is great, negligible or non-existent is irrelevant. If the paying Xbox community wants the choice, they're more likely to get it.

    I currently play on Xbox & I had another player accuse me of cheating because he shot me three times with a shotgun from a distance, I just kept eating to heal & he screamed "HEALTH MOD". Not even Xbox Players are safe. I vote to keep crossplay as is. PC players have been a great help & it's fun taking them on as well. The skill gap in this game isn't huge.

    Got a lot of Xbox friends I play with. I don't cheat, I team with them and enjoy the game.

    If I ever came across half the people on this forum, I wouldn't want to play with them. Damn, guys.
