Not getting a trial

Last night, me and a crew mate were in an alliance and so we thought we'd work on some of the alliance trials. We went for the "Defeat Flameheart's Ghost Ships while in an Alliance." You need to get 5. We destroyed 7 at least. And checked, nothing. Checked this morning, nothing. Neither of us have that trial completed. Are we missing something?
