Item Radial Problem

I wasn't sure where to put this but I cannot find anything about it after a while of searching. My friend and I both play sea of thieves out of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, I play on PC and they play on Xbox. Recently, they encountered a problem where they cannot access the Item Radial, no matter what controller they use. We tried changing the settings to see if it was the button, but even after moving it to A, B, X, and Y it still doesn't open. They can access the items in it from other ways, but it takes longer. Any ideas how to fix this?
